The best part of fall, done the old way
How Pumpkin Picking Works at Long's
1. Ride the Hayride Out
The hayride is included with your Fun Farm admission and runs all day on weekends, straight from the farmyard out to the pumpkin field.
2. Pick From the Vine
Walk the rows and take your time. Big carvers, pie pumpkins, and everything in between, still on the vine the way a pumpkin patch should be.
3. Pay For What You Pick
Pumpkins are priced separately from admission, pay on your way out. We’re a cashless farm, cards and mobile pay only. Pumpkin pricing is posted at the patch and the barn.
Weekends, with everything else included
One Ticket Covers the Corn Maze, Hayrides & the Whole Fun Farm
Come for the pumpkin, stay for the corn maze.
Your admission covers the corn maze, both jumping pillows, the combine slide, the petting farm, the pedal karts, and every play structure on the property, plus the hayride to the patch. Apple season runs right alongside, so plenty of families pick apples the same afternoon. Most make a full day of it, so come when you have time.
Online tickets are $2 less than the gate, and on busy October weekends booking ahead guarantees your spot.
Open daily, no ticket needed
Pre-Picked Pumpkins at the Cider Mill, Every Day
Grab a pumpkin, a gallon of cider, and a dozen donuts in one stop.
Rather skip the field? Pumpkins are stacked in front of the Cider Mill barn all season, open daily through Thanksgiving Eve with no admission. Weekday porch-decorators, this is your lane.
While you’re here: Bobby Long’s mums are grown right on the farm, and nothing sets a porch like pumpkins and mums from the same field. Mums go fast when they’re ready, the farm update announces them.
Worth the drive
The Pumpkin Patch Families Drive To From All Over Metro Detroit
A real working pumpkin farm, not a parking-lot pop-up: we’re in Commerce Township in western Oakland County, an easy fall drive from Milford, Novi, White Lake, Walled Lake, Wixom, and Waterford, and worth the trip from Livonia, Plymouth, Northville, South Lyon, and Brighton. Check directions and drive times before you head out, and watch the farm update for field conditions.

Pumpkin Varieties & Sizes at the Patch
Same idea as our apple chart: know what you’re picking before you ride out. The exact lineup shifts with each season, and the crew at the patch will point you to what’s picking best.
Carving Pumpkins
The classic jack-o’-lantern: big, sturdy walls, flat bottoms. The field runs small-porch to can’t-lift-it-alone.
Pie Pumpkins
Small, sweet, and dense, grown for the oven, not the knife. One pie pumpkin makes about one 9-inch pie.
Specialty Pumpkins, Minis & Gourds
Whites, warty heirlooms, minis and gourds for the porch steps, plus Bobby Long’s mums to finish the setup.

Fall Family Photos in the Pumpkin Patch
The porch photo, the wagon photo, the one that becomes the holiday card.
The patch, the wagons, and the barn make the backdrop families come back for every year. Planning a session with a photographer? You’re welcome during normal operating hours, photographers, crew, and clients each purchase admission for the same day and time slot.
“Very tasty cider and a great place to pick up pumpkins for Halloween.”

Good to Know Before You Pick
Do I need a Fun Farm ticket to get pumpkins?
Only for the u-pick patch, since the hayride out is part of the Fun Farm. Pre-picked pumpkins in front of the Cider Mill are available daily with no ticket at all.
Is the hayride to the pumpkin patch included with admission?
Yes. The hayride is included with your Fun Farm admission and runs throughout the day on weekends. You only pay separately for the pumpkins you pick.
How much do pumpkins cost?
Pumpkins are priced separately from admission. Pricing is posted at the patch, and you pay on your way out. We’re a cashless farm, cards and mobile pay only.
When is the pumpkin patch open?
The u-pick patch runs on Fun Farm weekends from September 12 through November 1, plus Fridays in October. Pre-picked pumpkins are at the Cider Mill daily through the fall.
Can I pick pumpkins on a weekday?
The field itself is a weekend hayride trip, but pre-picked pumpkins from the same patch are out front of the Cider Mill seven days a week.
What kinds of pumpkins do you grow?
Big carving pumpkins, pie pumpkins, and decorative varieties. Availability shifts through October, so early trips get the widest choice.
What happens if it rains on the day of my visit?
Light rain won’t close the farm, bring boots for the field. If weather forces us to close, ticket holders get a coupon code to reschedule. Refunds aren’t offered.
