Most of the big cider mills Livonia drives to are 45 minutes or more each way. Long's is 25, up I-96 past Twelve Oaks and north into the lake country of western Oakland County. From the Laurel Park side of town it's about the same drive as getting to downtown Plymouth on a Saturday, and you're on the farm before the kids ask "are we there yet" the second time.
It's also a real farm, not a fall-themed parking lot. The Long family has worked this ground for 150 years, presses their own cider from their own apples, and runs the donut kitchen themselves. The Fun Farm is 20+ attractions on one ticket, and the Cider Mill barn is free to walk into every day of the season.
The corn maze, cut fresh every fall
Long's cuts a brand-new design into the corn each September, and it's included with Fun Farm admission. On select nights it runs after dark as the Moonlight Corn Maze, flashlights required. For Livonia families it's the closest full-size maze that comes with a cider mill attached.
Buy Fun Farm tickets online and they're $2 less than the gate, and you'll get through the gate faster on busy October Saturdays.

Planning the Trip from Livonia
How far is Long Family Orchard from Livonia?
About 25 minutes. Take I-96 west to the Wixom Rd exit, head north about five miles, and turn onto E Commerce Rd. The farm is on the left with plenty of free parking.
Is Long's the closest cider mill to Livonia?
Not the closest, but the only 150-year-old one, and the only one with a full Fun Farm. Twenty-five minutes up I-96 gets you a real working farm instead of a fall-themed parking lot.
Do I need a ticket just for cider and donuts?
No. The Cider Mill barn is open daily 9 to 7, Fridays from 7 am, with no admission. Tickets are only for the Fun Farm, which runs Friday through Sunday.
